Since early 2012, the ever-blossoming psychedelic rock/funk/improv outfit HABATAT has made positive strides in the music scene in and around Pittsburgh, Pa. Throughout 2013/2014, HABATAT focused on playing clubs, bars, bowling alleys, festivals, fundraisers, community events, and any local venue that would have them steadily building their following and proving themselves a draw as both festival headliners and tour support for national acts. 2015 marked the band's first release, a self titled album which opened doors for mainstream acceptance that produced several long term opportunities.
As a band for 2018, HABATAT has been setting heady goals including releasing their second full length album, "HOMESTEAD", hosting their first 3 day music festival, FUNKy Fest- A Family Campout, production of the fourth installment of their own music festival, Pour the Love, and an ambitious summer schedule.
Combining the gritty, sultry vocals of Ryan Woods, fusion guitar and trumpet from Josh Covert, blistering saxophone of Alec Redd, brassy trombone and baritone horn of Mere Redd, colorful funky bass riffs from Kris Lupher, powerful dance/funk drum grooves by J.Banks, this group will leave you floored with their energetic live performance; often described as a raw boogaloo of sound. Equipped with a 3+ hour reportoire of original songs and ballads, HABATAT's music brings danceable vibes in a characteristic thumbprint completely their own.
We are incredibly grateful for the love and support shown by our families, friends and HABATEERS (fan group), and we are dedicated to bringing the most authentic musical experience to the stage each and every night. In short, we're growing as a community with people of love who have a passion for what they do and how we can act towards one another.
We whole heartedly thank the ones who have come along with us on this journey.
CHEERS to each moment shared together and the ones yet to come!
